The Outside-In Audit

Stop guessing why it isn't landing.

You get a written report showing exactly what a cold prospect and an AI assistant find when they look you up, what that is costing you, and the one thing to change first. It arrives in your inbox. There is no call to sit through and no retainer at the end of it.

The overview

Eight minutes, and you'll know exactly what you get.

  • I look you up the way a stranger would, and write down what I actually find.
  • I ask the assistants your buyers ask, and quote the answers verbatim with dates.
  • You get a written report, prioritized, with a source on every claim.
  • Every tier includes a Do This First.
  • No call, no start date to schedule, no ongoing commitment.

What lands in your inbox

Three things you can use without me in the room.

The report

A written document, not a slide deck and not a call recording. Every finding is marked Working, Note or Flag, carries its source and the date I checked it, and is written so you can hand it straight to your team.

Do This First

A single page naming the one change to make this week, why it comes before the others, and roughly what it takes. Every tier includes it, because a report you cannot act on alone is just a bill with opinions in it.

The debrief

On the $5,000 scope, a recorded video of me going through your findings out loud. You watch it when you want, as many times as you want, and forward it to whoever needs it.

The method

Seven passes, in the order a stranger actually meets you.

I start where they start. None of it requires a meeting with you, and that is deliberate - the moment you tell me what to look for, I stop being able to see what they see.

01

First impression

The first five seconds on your site, read cold. What a stranger concludes about what you sell and who it is for, before they scroll.

02

Messaging clarity

Whether the same promise survives from homepage to contact form, and whether it is written in symptoms your buyer would recognize.

03

AI visibility

What ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity say when someone asks for a business like yours - quoted verbatim, with the date I asked.

04

Reputation

What exists about you that you did not write. Reviews, directories, third-party mentions, and how you answer the reviews you have.

05

Mobile path

The whole journey on a phone, from first tap to inquiry, including the places it quietly asks too much of someone standing in a car park.

06

Competitive position

Who a prospect finds instead of you, what they promise, and what they structurally cannot do that you can.

07

Search presence

Every query a buyer would actually type, and whether anything of yours is there to be found.

Scroll the row →  Anything I cannot verify is flagged as unverified, never guessed.

Three scopes

One fee. One document. One decision.

Most people take the middle one. It is the scope where the findings come with the words to fix them.

The Complete Audit

Delivery windows run from purchase. There is no start date to schedule and no call to book - your audit enters the queue at checkout.

Fit

I turn work away, and I would rather do it here than after you have paid.

This is not for you if you have nothing public to audit yet - I need at least a rough website to read. If you are looking for someone to execute the fixes; this hands you a decision, not a delivery team. Or if you want your current plan validated rather than tested, because that is not what will come back.

It is a good fit if you have been in business long enough to know your work is good, you can feel people slipping away before the first real conversation, and you want an outside read without signing up to an agency relationship to get it.

There is free help, and you should use it.

Small Business Development Centers offer genuinely good consulting at no cost, and your buyers' tax dollars already paid for it. Here is the honest comparison, so you can decide before you spend anything.

If free advice is what you need right now, take it. It is good and it is there.

Before you commit

The questions people actually ask.

Why is there no discovery call?

Two reasons, and the first is the important one. A call biases the read - the moment you tell me what to look for, I stop being able to see what a stranger sees, and the cold view is the whole product. The second is that it saves us both a week of scheduling. The intake form gives me everything I need.

What if I disagree with a finding?

Every finding carries its source and the date I checked it, so you can go and look at the same thing I looked at. Some findings are judgement calls and I say so. Anything I could not verify is flagged as unverified rather than presented as fact.

Is my business too early for this?

Early-stage is often the best time, because nothing has hardened yet. The only real requirement is something public to audit - at minimum a website, even a rough one. If you have no online presence at all, the audit has nothing to read and you should wait.

How does payment work?

The two lower scopes are paid in full at checkout through Stripe, with a 24-hour no-questions refund. The Complete Audit is by application: you apply, I review whether it is a fit, and if it is I invoice - split 50/50 by default, or in full upfront if you prefer.

Will you tell me my business is bad?

No, and I have not once had to. Most audits find that the work is genuinely good and the outside view of it is a decade behind. That is a much easier problem than the one people fear they have.
